Wanna be my neighbor?

There is a good chance that there will be a "For Sale" sign or two on the street soon, most likely on the house right next to us. Remember this and this? Well due to this that family will probably be moving soon. I have to admit, the kids did grow on me somewhat and their mom is very, very nice. They are just quiet people who tended to keep to themselves. It seems like they took for fact that with his line of work they would move often, so they are probably not too surprised. They did make it through one of the worst winters we've had in a great long while, so they can claim they survived Iowa.

The other neighbor got screwed with this just two weeks ago, before the coach decided to bail. Nice. Maybe with coaching changes there is a possiblity he could be re-hired; he seemed like a great guy and a great coach from what I hear.

Anyone looking to move to a great neighborhood with wonderful schools and awesome neigbhors? I could possibly hook you up soon!

They need to hire Turner Gill--he'd get you all kinds of players from Texas (he got them to come to Buffalo, for pete's sake!)

I watched the AD's press conference online this morning (just happened to be searching to see what the scuttle was on who might get the job and there it was...live!)

Anyway....whoa, why did I not know Cael Sanderson was your wrestling coach? Where have I been?

Oh yeah, I've been in the South where they think it's all star rasslin'.

I know Turner is a favorite among the fans right now--everyone thinks it would be great. They are afraid he will hold out for a better position in a year or two. Supposedly this morning his agent said that ISU has not contacted him (when talking to an ISU reporter), but we are all hoping otherwise.

We "heart" Cael! :) One of his three younger brothers is an assistant coach (and a neighbor a few streets down) and his youngest brother is on the team. Aside from not being able to beat Iowa, we are hoping we can keep up #2!

I was wondering how your neighbors were faring the whole upheaval.

I really hope they can bring in a coach who will be good for ISU and build the program, not just use us as a stepping stone for a few years to something else (though I know that's what most coaches do).

It sounds like our next door neighbors will be moving with him, the asst. coach was spotted w/ the coach down there this weekend. His family is from the South so I'm sure he would be happy to move, too.

Our elementary school enrollment is going to drop by quite a few kids here soon! :P

The shelf life of a college coach is a lot shorter now than it used to be. You're not going to see any more 10-15 year stints at any one school anymore because there's too much money involved. Remember back in the day when maybe one of your games was on tv? Now it's wall to wall, 24/7 coverage. Tommy Tuberville went undefeated at Auburn only 2 or 3 years ago, beat Alabama for the past six years and he's gone. Not a fan of the SEC if you couldn't tell.

Turner's wife is from Nebraska and they lived there for years and years (she was a Theta). I'd think they'd be ready to come close to home and he'd definitely bring passion--did you see his interview after they won the MAC? That's why we (DOTR and I) were hoping he'd get the Nebraska job--we went to college with him and we love him. But our defense was in worse shape than our offense, so they had to go with Bo, I guess.

It's good when we're ALL good in the Big 12 so those people in the braggert conferences can just shut the bleep up!
